ActiveCampaign alternatives and how to move your list

ActiveCampaign prices by contact count and puts features behind plan tiers. That is why teams look elsewhere: they pay for contacts, then pay again to unlock the features they need.

What ActiveCampaign’s pricing page says

  • Plans: Starter, Plus, Pro and Enterprise, all shown for 1,000 contacts. The page does not show prices. They scale with your list.
  • 14-day free trial, no card needed.
  • Starter: one user, 10,000 sends a month, email only, limited segmentation.
  • Plus: adds cross-channel marketing, generative AI, landing pages and site messages.
  • Pro: adds predictive sending, conditional content and attribution.
  • Enterprise: adds single sign-on, HIPAA and premium CRM integrations such as Salesforce.

Where to move

OpenContact copies an ActiveCampaign list, with custom fields and tags, to:

Moving from ActiveCampaign

  • Custom fields are read and recreated in the destination. In ActiveCampaign they are created as text or date fields.
  • Contact tags are read and travel with each contact. They arrive as tags in Mailchimp and Kit, and in a tags text field in tools without native tags.
  • Unsubscribed, bounced and suppressed contacts are not added to the new list.
  • Automations, forms and reports are not copied. Rebuild them in the new tool.

If you need a CRM too

OpenContact also connects HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Copper, so you can keep a CRM and change only the email tool.
